    My boyfriend and I were passing through town and decided to have a special dinner out. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Saturday night, but that just meant a more intimate experience for us! I ordered the chicken/filet combo while he ordered the shrimp/filet combo. Both were phenomenal. The meats were cooked absolutely perfect. The real shiner, though was the fried rice! So incredibly flavorful! Even before the sauce that it's served with, it was probably some of the best fried rice I've ever had. I'm still thinking about it. The service was great as was the food. We had a fantastic night out!

    Average at best. The chef was very nice, but didn't do much of the usual tepanyaki show. We did the chicken tepanyaki. Started with a pretty typical miso soup before going to a primarily iceberg lettuce salad with a nauseatingly sweet dressing. It had citrus overtones, but tasted like melted sherbet. The best part was the fried rice, which was notably bland without the delicious sauce provided. The tepanyaki was under seasoned and didn't have near enough teriyaki sauce. Veggies were crisp and flavorful. The tepanyaki experience was entirely underwhelming. The empty restaurant should be a red flag.

    Really good food. Totally enjoyed the cook. It was fun to see him cook right in front of us. He was very friendly and my kids enjoyed watching him cook. They ate all of there food.

    YES! Real Chinese food in Southern Oregon! Hands down the best Chinese food place I have found in Southern Oregon. For those from California that have been disheartened after you experience the disappoint deep fried doughy balls of meet the get a drizzle of sauce and are served up as a Chinese food dish.... I have a solution! Check this place out! It's not as good as many of the places I've experienced in NorCal... but so much better than anything I have experience in Southern Oregon. Oh and lunch specials start around $6.50 and are delicious!

    My husband and I came here for dinner and were highly disappointed. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and it was horrible. It tasted as if they simply used the Kikoman Teriyaki sauce from Walmart to make it. Plus, it was so runny and the chicken was very gamy. I can not remember what my husband ordered, but I think it was some sort of beef with veggies; no flavor at all! We also ordered pot stickers, vegetable spring rolls, miso soup, and some sashimi, and a California roll. The pot stickers and the vegetable spring rolls were delicious, but the miso soup was SO salty! I felt as if I were drinking salt water! The sashimi was incredibly slimy and tasted rotten. The service here was wonderful though which is why they got two stars from me.

    The sushi chef knows his stuff. He has been a sushi chef for five plus years. The sushi not only tastes heavenly but looks like a piece of art. The staff is sweet and attentive. The negative reviews are all lies that are ran by g street. Tokyo is on a roll... come try the sushi

    Me and my fiancé decided to stop and give this place a try (we were visiting GP from Eugene for the 4th of July weekend) We were both pleasantly surprised! The restaurant was beautiful and clean. We both got filet mignon and what an amazing choice!! Some of the best steak we have had in a long time! Someone else at our table got shrimp and chicken which also looked amazing without us even trying it.Our chef was friendly and did a full show! Dinner comes with salad, miso soup, fried or steamed rice, veggies and choice of meat. I dot live in GP but when I come back this will be a must-have!

    Wow, this place is an amazing compliment to downtown Grants Pass! We went in thinking we'd try out the teppanyaki but when we saw the wait and took a look at their menu, we decided to sit down. So many amazing options to choose from and such a fresh concept! Nothing like anywhere in Grants Pass, FINALLY! We started off with their fried banana salad and it's to die for, it's like a dessert! Then onto some beef pho soup, a place that does pho! We then got the seafood pancakes and the orange duck both were perfectly done and a great deal on pricing! I would recommend sitting down to eat here but next time we'll try out the teppanyaki!

    The service was prompt, but the waiter was forgetful and the restaurant was not busy. Two people in our group of six asked for lemon water. The water arrived without lemon. My wife and I ordered the Lotus, Pumpkin, and Taro. After a few minutes, the waiter returned and said they were out of pumpkin. We ordered the Fried Oyster Mushrooms - these were very good, moderately spicy, and very flavorful. We will return and give them another chance.

    We had a really terrible experience here. Giving it two stars instead of one because I realize it's new and want to give them a litle slack. First of all, we made a 7 pm reservation for 7 people. We showed up early and we're seated until almost 7:25pm. Also, they overbooked our table by a person so it was very cramped and I was basically sitting on top of my boss. Awkward. Service was terrible. Ordered a cocktail as soon as we sat down, and it took at least 15 minutes to get it. Also ordered water at that time and didn't receive it (got a glass after 3rd request). No one came by to ask if we wanted more drinks (we did!!) the entire night. No one cleared out the soup/salad plates either... one of the other teppanyaki chefs at the table next to us came over and took them at one point because our chef literally didn't have anywhere to put the food. The food was pretty mediocore. Going to japanese teppanyaki/hibachi restaurants is one of my favorite things to do- and this was by far one of the worst I've been to. The rice which seems standard had no flavor. There was also no onion in it, which I found odd. We all covered the rice in soy sauce to give it flavor. Some of the rest was pretty oily/buttery. The filet was quite tender- favorite thing all night. The price seemed very high to me. This was one of the most expensive I've been to including in some very expensive cities in the US (including DC and NYC). The last thing that really annoyed all the women I was with is that the chef gave all the extra food to men. After he was done giving everyone their portion of food (rice, meat, vegetables) he distributed the extras out amongst the table. Except each time, he literally only gave men extra food- and there was a LOT of it! None of the women got extras in any of the areas which was quite annoying. I don't live in Grants Pass, but I don't think I would go back if I did.

    Had a great experience Knowing that it's a busy Mother's Day weekend we had the foresight of walking in early and making a reservation for the Teppan-Yaki tables that's how it works it's a new restaurant and they did a fantastic job thank you very much we will be back and have been back since Best if luck to you You hire and crest jobs for the community The restaurant looks fantastic !!!!

    Speaking only of their teppanyaki tables, never had a bad experience! Food has consistently been high quality and delicious, not to mention the fun dinner show. Would certainly recommend this to anyone to friends and visitors!

    Very nice service, the food was tasty and warm. The chefs special beef tasted reminiscent of egg foo young, very good; had onions and pieces of fluffy steak in it topped with a brown sauce and green onion as well as a side of nice fried rice. The Tokyo triple punch was very tasty, it had mango and grenadine as well as another juice I can't remember - it was very sweet like fruit nectar, real juice!

    My wife and I are at Tokyo on their opening night. The remodel on the building was very well done and the teppanyaki tables were quite impressive. After a short wait we were seated with a few other couples and the chef's performance began. He quickly dropped his spatula on the floor and had to excuse himself to get another. He then proceeded to deliver a most tepid teppanyaki performance and deliver food which could only be described as average at best. When we received the bill it was nearly one hundred dollars with no alcoholic beverages involved. Three hours after we left my wife was sick as a dog with all the classic symptoms of food poisoning. I see aome positive reviews, however my wife and I will not be returning.

    Over all, a very pleasant experience. The building has been nicely redone on the exterior since it's days as China Buffet. The inside has been spruced up a bit also. The night we went was very slow, weeknight around 7PM. We both had the chicken and rice/veggies. Pros: Extremely friendly staff, drinks were kept full, same show from each chef at each table (so you know what you are getting) Cons: The chicken was a bit dry, rice wasn't all that flavorful. The parking lot and situation could use a little work. All around pleasant experience. The food was average, the price is a little high for the quality, but not extraordinarily so. I would definitely try it again, and try another dish.

    Terrible! I saw this place driving through and though hmm sushi sounds good. As I walked in I thought there might be a chance they don't have sushi since I saw teppanyaki tables so when I sat down at the bar by myself I asked the bartender "hey do you guys have sushi?" And she said "yes"! So I ordered a beer and a miso soup and looked at the menu and guess what no frwakin sushi!!!! Wtf! Edit: I'm actually sitting at the bar right now by myself been here for twenty minutes and not only am I looking at an empty beer but STILL no miso soup! How long dies it take to put soup in a bowl?!

    We had the fried wontons for our appetizer. The one we wanted was unavailable. The hot red sauce was delicious and not just out if the bottle. We first shared the Grants Pass beef with kungpao sauce and it disappeared quickly because it was so delicious. We will be trying another dish because we are not full. Portion size was normal to 15 years ago. However we were very pleased with the food. No regrets on our choice. They are newly remodeled and also offer chef prepared meals at the grill with slightly hire pricing. Good for groups or intimate meal

    This is for the Teppanyaki side of the restaurant: Way too expensive for what you get. I would expect the combo dishes to be in the $15 - $25, not $18-$35+ range - especially for what you get... Fried rice (for $2.50 extra) was made with what looked like the bag of frozen corn, peas and carrot squares. The chicken and shrimp were overcooked, and when we asked for more of the orange dipping sauce, the waiter accidentally brought us orange sherbet salad dressing - we didn't realize the error until we had already put the sauce on our fried rice which ruined our plate - and when we brought it to the attention of the waiter who made the error he offered to bring us additional steamed rice (not the fried rice we paid for) and when we got the bill we were still charged the full amount for the fried rice add-on. On a side note separate from the unfortunate happening the night we went... the fan for the teppanyaki tables is in the table itself (no need for an overhead vent/hood) but the fan is so noisy that you can barely hear the rest of your party (especially if its a larger group). We will not be going back.

    Went in for teppanyaki portion of the place. Entertaining and service is good but food was tasteless and small portion for $15...our party was 8 people who tried different combo meals and no one liked the food. Only thing I liked was the house salad...I don't recommend the place at all.

    Best Chinese food in the area. Pretty authentic Chinese as restaurants go for Oregon. Portions are good for the price, would suggest Hot Spicy Pork. Haven't tried the teppanyaki yet.

    Ok not bad for what it is.....left happy and full and didn't have to go to Medford. ....kid was happy ....I would go back. ...price is a little high but shit food cost is up right now so it is what it is....

    Went in on a busy Mother's Day. Reservation only for the cooking tables, understandable on a holiday. Had a party of three and was told a 10 min wait for a regular table. We could sit at the bar or small waiting area. 27 mins later, sitting at the bar (awesome bartender) , we were staring at two dirty empty tables for over 14 mins, one was finally clean off by the hosted that told us 10 min wait. But instead of getting seated, a party of 5 that came less then 3 mins prior got the table and the other table was left dirty while I looked in disbelief. The hostess saw me and disappeared in the back for more than 5 more minutes. We left.

    We decided to try this place since we've had others like it in Medford and liked them. We very much enjoyed ourselves. Very clean, entertaining, and flavorfull. We actually prefer this place over the ones in Medford. Maybe we just got lucky, but we will be back.

    This place has, by far, the best Chinese food around. I suspect that the negative reviews are from the competition. If Tepanyaki is not your style, you can order from the menu. It's a great place to take family or friends.

    This is a new restaurant here in GP. If you don't already know about teppanyaki grills, it's pretty confusing when you come in. The first question was what side are you sitting on. But they don't tell you those are the grill tables and those are the Chinese food tables. They just waved the two menus at us until we chose the grill tables. Good choice? The waitress took the time to explain the choice we made so now we will know. And, yes, you can order off the Chinese menu at the grill tables but it's awkward when it comes time to eat. The two preps are on two schedules. Our waitress was great. We got drinks refilled and a dropped fork replaced without hassle. The completed dishes were promptly removed. The food... Steaks were exceptional. The tenderest I've had in a long time and cooked right. Chicken, good too. The shrimp were tough but flavorful. The golden miso used with the rice was really good. The fried rice (at extra charge) was good. The salad dressing was liked by two of us and not liked by two. The salad itself was good. The salmon looked very good although we didn't try it. Next time. The veggies were good but mine were under-cooked. The show is a lot of fun. Really! You have to decide if it's worth the premium price. Cocktails are $8. Prices range from $18 to $42 for lobster. Most dishes were in the high 20's. The noise is really loud. You can not hear the person next to you. Forget trying to have a conversation. If you wear a hearing aid, you'll want to take it out!

    If you're looking for a great Teppanyaki meal, look elsewhere. My chicken was dry and under seasoned, the fried rice was very generic (plus 2.95 more than white rice), and my vegetables were over seasoned. Definitely disappointing for a meal that cost $18.

    Dinner out on a Friday evening. The restaurant was very busy but we got seated within 5 minutes. Utter chaos in the restaurant, no organization. Waited came to the table to take our food and drink order. Over 20 minutes passed and we never got our drink order from the bar and no waiter in sight. Finally flagged down our waiter and got the drinks but I received a dirty glass, so I had to flag down the waiter again and ask for another glass. They bring us water and my glass has a crack running down the side. They are new and recently opened, so we expected a few hiccups and wait patiently for our food. That's when the big disappointment starts especially with our appetizers. The spring rolls arrive, cool on the inside but the BBQ pork did arrive warm. I'm assuming the spring rolls must be pre-made and cooked prior to serving but being deep fried they should of been served very hot but were cool in the middle. You can't send it back because no one ever comes around even though they seem to have plenty of staff. The main entrees arrive and they are very average, not sure if I will give them another chance.

The chicken and shrimp were overcooked, and when we asked for more of the orange dipping sauce, the waiter accidentally brought us orange sherbet salad dressing - we didn't realize the error until we had already put the sauce on our fried rice which ruined our plate - and when we brought it to the attention of the waiter who made the error he offered to bring us additional steamed rice (not the fried rice we paid for) and when we got the bill we were still charged the full amount for the fried rice add-on. On a side note separate from the unfortunate happening the night we went... the fan for the teppanyaki tables is in the table itself (no need for an overhead vent/hood) but the fan is so noisy that you can barely hear the rest of your party (especially if its a larger group). We will not be going back.

    Went in for teppanyaki portion of the place. Entertaining and service is good but food was tasteless and small portion for $15...our party was 8 people who tried different combo meals and no one liked the food. Only thing I liked was the house salad...I don't recommend the place at all.

    Best Chinese food in the area. Pretty authentic Chinese as restaurants go for Oregon. Portions are good for the price, would suggest Hot Spicy Pork. Haven't tried the teppanyaki yet.

    Ok not bad for what it is.....left happy and full and didn't have to go to Medford. ....kid was happy ....I would go back. ...price is a little high but shit food cost is up right now so it is what it is....

    Went in on a busy Mother's Day. Reservation only for the cooking tables, understandable on a holiday. Had a party of three and was told a 10 min wait for a regular table. We could sit at the bar or small waiting area. 27 mins later, sitting at the bar (awesome bartender) , we were staring at two dirty empty tables for over 14 mins, one was finally clean off by the hosted that told us 10 min wait. But instead of getting seated, a party of 5 that came less then 3 mins prior got the table and the other table was left dirty while I looked in disbelief. The hostess saw me and disappeared in the back for more than 5 more minutes. We left.

    We decided to try this place since we've had others like it in Medford and liked them. We very much enjoyed ourselves. Very clean, entertaining, and flavorfull. We actually prefer this place over the ones in Medford. Maybe we just got lucky, but we will be back.

    This place has, by far, the best Chinese food around. I suspect that the negative reviews are from the competition. If Tepanyaki is not your style, you can order from the menu. It's a great place to take family or friends.

    Dinner out on a Friday evening. The restaurant was very busy but we got seated within 5 minutes. Utter chaos in the restaurant, no organization. Waited came to the table to take our food and drink order. Over 20 minutes passed and we never got our drink order from the bar and no waiter in sight. Finally flagged down our waiter and got the drinks but I received a dirty glass, so I had to flag down the waiter again and ask for another glass. They bring us water and my glass has a crack running down the side. They are new and recently opened, so we expected a few hiccups and wait patiently for our food. That's when the big disappointment starts especially with our appetizers. The spring rolls arrive, cool on the inside but the BBQ pork did arrive warm. I'm assuming the spring rolls must be pre-made and cooked prior to serving but being deep fried they should of been served very hot but were cool in the middle. You can't send it back because no one ever comes around even though they seem to have plenty of staff. The main entrees arrive and they are very average, not sure if I will give them another chance.
